2021: The year of ZOOM webinars

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, I have not been able to invite various speakers in person to speak to my students. Thus, for this year, I have been working with NUS and also Dr Chen Zhong to bring a series of webinars to allow learning outside the classroom.

Some of 2021's webinars include:

  1. “To regenerate or not? An epigenetic decision beyond DNA.” by Dr Chen Zhong

  2. "Genetically-engineered Factor C for QC of Injectable Drugs and Vaccines – a Crucial Milestone for the Human Healthcare Industry" by Professor Ding Jeak Ling

  3. “Use of cryo-electron microscopy to study viruses” by Prof Lok Sheemei

  4. "Understanding Cell Signalling and Diseases through Interdisciplinary Lenses" by Associate Prof Low Boon Chuan

Dr Chen Zhong

I invited my academic idol Dr Chen Zhong who is an expert in both plant and molecular biology to give a talk on plant reproduction to my Sec 4 students previously in 2019.

Although he was not my supervisor when I was doing my Masters research, he willingly provided a lot of guidance whenever I was struggling with my molecular biology protocol optimisation.

I have included the PDF of the slides he shared and printed below.

Please also enjoy the photos that I took during the lecture.
